Until recently, Brooklyn-based alternative-soul crooner IYVES was known as HΛNΛH. Having switched monikers, presumably because there's dozens of other Hanas, Hanahs and Hannahs with various stylisations, the young singer is back with a new single, called 'Wilinout'. Produced by Tei Shi and Ryan Egan overseer, Luca Buccellati, 'Wilinout' amps up the smart, sensitive, melodic pop we first heard on 'Out Of Touch' and 'Hideaway', with IYVES' old school R&B hook peppered over Buccellati's trademark joyfully wonky synths and unobtrusive beat patterns. In IYVES own words: "I wrote this song during a pivotal time in a relationship. It’s that moment where you realize that a change needs to happen but something is holding you back." While she might have been paralysed in love before, there's nothing going to stop her rise to the top with this one. - DC
